Scope and Contents: This collection is arranged in 4 series.
Series 1, Accreditation and Affiliations, includes material regarding the College’s accreditation from and affiliation with other educational institutions and organizations. It includes correspondence, reports, and applications for the College charter. It includes three subseries: Catholic University of America, Middle States Association, and State University of New York. Series 1 is located in Boxes 1-3.
Series 2, Administrative, includes material regarding the overall management of the College. It includes material such as catalogs, schedules, lists of faculty members, calendars, handbooks, meeting minutes, information about events, and more. It includes 6 subseries: Board of Trustees, which includes correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports; Correspondence, which is organized alphabetically by correspondent; Finance, which includes budgets and reports; Governance, which includes the College charters, statutes, and history; Reports; and Summer Seminar for Japanese Students, a summer program for Japanese university students to introduce them to American higher education. Series 2 is located in Boxes 3-10.
Series 3, Course Outlines, includes descriptions and outlines of courses offered at the College. It includes 11 subseries: Education, English, Fine Arts, History, Language, Math, Philosophy, Psychology, Religion, Sciences, and Social Sciences. Series 3 is located in Boxes 10-12.
Series 4, Transcripts, contains student grade reports (transcripts) for students of Maryknoll Teacher Training School, Maryknoll Teachers College, Mary Rogers College, and Rogers College. All of these names are reflected on the forms used. It also includes blank forms, procedure information for Archives staff issuing official and unofficial transcripts, and the Rogers College seal. Active and former Maryknoll Sisters, active and former Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, non-Maryknoll religious and laity are represented. While generally organized in a single alphabetical structure, some individuals have separate folders. Please see processing notes section for information on how this series was created.
