Legacy and Culture Collection, 1879-1992 | Maryknoll Mission Archives

The Legacy and Culture Collection dates from 1879 to 1992.  It is contained in 20 Hollinger boxes and occupies approximately 8 linear feet.

The collection is broken up into 14 series.  The first series, Books, is broken into 8 sub-series which are Breviaries, Dictionaries, Divine Office, Grace Books, Hymnals, Mission Code Books, Prayer Books, and Spirituality.  Series 1 can be found in boxes 1 through 9.

Series 2 is the Community Prayers and is located in box 10.  Series 3 contains the Congregational Directories and is held in boxes 10 and 11.  Series 4 holds the materials about the Customs.  There is one sub-series entitled Bulletin Board Cards.  Series 4 is in boxes 11 and 12.  Series 5 comprises the materials on the Divine Office and is located in boxes 12 and 13.  Series 6 is Maryknoll Our Heritage in Song, which is scrapbook about the history of the Sisters with an emphasis on music.  This series can be found in boxes 13 through 17.

Series 7 contains the Memberships documents and is located in boxes 17 and 18.  Series 8, Plays, can be found in box 18.  Series 9 holds the Postulants documents and is located in box 18.  Box 18 also contains Series 10 - the Reception/Profession documents.  Series 11, the Religious Habit materials, is located in box 19.  Series 12 contains the documents on Rulebooks and Handbooks and is also located in box 19.  Rulings and Directives, Series 13, can be found in boxes 19 and 20.  Series 14, Social Conventions and Courtesy, is also located in box 20.
